Decathlon Boisbriand in Montreal set out to transform shopping into an active, engaging experience. To do this, they became the first store in Canada to install MultiBall. As an interactive sports wall it turned in-store browsing into hands-on play.
Installed right on the shop floor, MultiBall let customers test gear through digital games using balls, rackets, and more. It entertained kids, supported sales staff, and helped shoppers make faster, more confident purchases.
Making Every Store Visit Count
Over the months that followed, the activation quickly proved its value. Between April and August 2019, the system averaged 225+ hours of playtime each month and generated 4,300+ euros in monthly revenue. The store also saw an increase of 19 euros in sales for every hour the system was used, reaching full return on investment by the fifth month.
Beyond the numbers, MultiBall helped Decathlon create a space that customers genuinely wanted to visit. In-store competitions with giveaways and digital signage for promotions kept the experience fresh and fun, while the system itself became a daily touchpoint for customers of all ages. As Sports Manager Pierre Kampa put it,
“The MultiBall system was used on a daily basis by all types of customers! It has also increased customer traffic and young client retention in our store.”
MultiBall is currently in use at four independently operated Decathlon franchise locations. Although all stores are part of the same retail brand, each installation is managed separately, reflecting both the system’s flexibility and growing demand in retail environments.
